Nokia has returned to downward trajectory after briefly rebounding on a settlement with Apple in patent row. Apple got to notice that while Nokia may no longer pack a mean punch, it can still pinch irritatingly. From that settlement Nokia is gaining a lump sum payment plus ongoing royalties from Apple, highlighting the value of Nokia's patents. Earlier reports by news agency PTI that the burning platform is materializing all too concretely were rebuffed by Nokia. A major fire has broken out in the paint unit of Sriperumpudur factory near Chennai but the unit belongs to subcontractor Perlos and Nokia's production facilities have not suffered damage the company says.
