According to AFP report, Swedish automaker Saab is unable to pay wages for lack of short term liquidity the parent company Swedish Automobile (Spyker) says. Trade union IF Metall will give the company an ultimatum and may have to consider pushing for bankruptcy. Should Saab go under, many of the Nordic regions smaller engineering firms would suffer, eventhough Saab's importance to Swedish economy is now minimal.
