Autoliv down on cartel investigations

Automotive safety systems developer and manufacturer Autoliv (OMX: ALIV SDB, NYSE: ALV) retreated on the last trading day of the week as the company provided some further information on ongoing Antitrust Inquiries. Autoliv says that when investigations are resolved it is likely that the company's operating results and cash flows will be materially impacted. Shares of the world’s largest airbag maker were down over 7% in Stockholm and over 10% in NYSE.

In June European Union competition authorities had raided couple of Autoliv’s German premises as a part of an ongoing investigation into a potential cartel relating to car seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels. US Department of Justice Antitrust Division had given a grand jury subpoena in February requesting documentations and information as a part of investigation into potential anti-competitive behavior among some automotive vehicle industry suppliers.
