Nokia (OMX: NOK1V) is now trading under 3.8 Euros for the first time in nearly 15 years. The stock closed at 3,798 Euros, pretty much the low for the session. Finnish broadcasting company YLE today highlighted the recent reports that Nokia has made an investigation request in Russia into actions of the celebrity blogger Eldar Murtazin in its main news program.
YLE interviewed Murtazin, whose view was that new CEO Stephen Elop is making conditions ripe for Nokia to have to sell parts of the company to Microsoft. Murtazin also felt that Nokia is getting nothing from the Microsoft deal. Nokia says that Murtazin is a sensationalist with a vivid imagination and none of the comments are based on fact. Nokia also noted that Murtazin is working as a consultant to competitors.
Oddly enough, it would seem that Nokia is trying to use the "leaks" rather than being victimized by them as of late. Nokia is due to report quarterly earnings this Thursday. The interim report should shed some more light into exactly what Nokia is getting out of the deal. Analysts’ are now betting for pretty much breakeven result.
