Stolt-Nielsen half-year report 2011

Norwegian-Bermudan shipping and seafood company Stolt-Nielsen Limited (OSE: SNI) reported quarterly earnings for Q2 2011 (March – May) on Thursday. Revenue rose from 463 million $ to 528 million. Net profit was 32.4 million USD. Both numbers toppled analysts’ expectations slightly.

As far as business units are concerned, Tankers unit was the lone one still with a slight loss, partially reflecting an impairnment taken and higher fuel costs as well as port congestions resulting in delays. Terminals, Tank Containers and Sea Farm unit were all performing positively.

Stolt-Nielsen provides integrated transportation and storage solutions for bulk liquid chemicals and other liquid products. The aquaculture division grows mainly turbot. The full half-year report is available here.
