Wilh. Wilhelmsen reports increased volumes

Shipping and logistics company Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA (OSE: WWASA) reported continued volume increase and high fleet utilization for Q2 2011. The reported second quarter operating profit was 63 million USD and revenue 586 million. More information is here.

The logistics arm experienced lower production as a result of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. High and heavy cargo volumes returned to healthy levels. The company expects volumes to grow further, even if at a somewhat slower rate and thus maintains guidance of ’moderate volume growth for 2011’.

Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding ASA (OSE:WWI)is the parent company and majority shareholder in Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA (the above mentioned WWASA) and is the only shareholder in Wilhelmsen Maritime Services AS. The maritime services segment grew revenue somewhat and had higher activity than in 2010 but reported somewhat disappointing margin. WWASA is down a notch and WWI up slightly in volatile markets, which have staged a bit of a recovery from session lows.
