Angry Birds Space to WP7?!

Angry Birds CEO Mikael Hed told Reuters that Rovio is working on bringing its new Angry Birds Space game to Windows Phone 7 Platform. Marketing Director Peter Vesterbacka had earlier said at Bloomberg TV, that the company has no plans to release the game on Windows Phone 7, as it is a large undertaking and needs a complete rewriting of the application, which would currently be too expensive.

Nokia (OMX: NOK1V) was under pressure in the early going in Helsinki, as analysts’ were commenting that this could be a major blow for the company’s Windows Phone-centric strategy. After Hed’s correction the tide turned. Hed did not give any time table for the launch on WP7 though. The game, which has attracted plenty of attention, started selling on iOS and Android platforms yesterday.
