Engnesdalen snowslide buries six tourists

NRK writes that an avalanche in Engnesdalen, Sorbmegaisa mountain, Kåfjord, northern parts of Troms county, has buried six tourist, one from France and five from Switzerland, this afternoon. They were a part of a 12 person group.

One person has been dug out alive, two have been confirmed dead and three are still buried under the snow. The police has an idea of their whereabouts and the work to dig them out is ongoing.

***UPDATE MONDAY EVENING ***

It has now been confirmed that the remaining three skiers were found dead. This means five people have died and one injured in the nearly a kilometre wide avalanche. The danger for further snow slides remains great.
