Volvo Cars Company, which is a subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, is forced to recall as many as 100 000 cars worldwide for repairs due to an electrical problem according to newspaper Dagens Industri. The recalls will involve the new S60, S80, XC60 and XC70 2012 models manufactured between weeks 20 and 40 last year. Some of the new sales will also be stopped. Customers who are affected will receive a letter from the company.
The problem involves a cable under the passenger seat that may get loose when seating posture is adjusted. So far there have been no reports of such a happening but there have been some instances where the dashboard warning indicator light lit up. The company gave no estimate of the costs it will incur.
