Nokia acquisition target speculation behind Friday jump
Nokia (OMX: NOK1V, NYSE: NOK) spiked up in the early afternoon yesterday as some automatic short covering took over after fantastical market rumour that Samsung may want to buyout the Finnish company. While it is hard to see what the South Korean rival would gain and it seemed nobody could track the source, Nokia's share surged to a near-double digit gain. It petered out somewhat only to be compounded by yet another speculated suitor. This time the whispers were that Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd would be coming in with an interest of its own. As per company policy on market rumours, Nokia declined to comment.
