Car bomb suspected in Oslo

Police has ordered people to stay outside a 500 metre radius from the United States embassy in Oslo to due to a suspicious object found under a car on the scene. A bomb squad is on the site to inspect the situation. Nearby buildings have been evacuated as a precaution. The information comes from a statement given by the police. They have detained the owner of the vehicle.

The situation turned out to be a false alarm. According to the police, the object was made of harmless components but looked exactly like a bomb. It is now being investigated, if this was intentional.

***UPDATE*** It turns out that the massive police operation was triggered by a harmless practise bomb belonging to the United States embassy, forgotten under the car by mistake.
