Nordic Mines (STO: NOMI) says that a ”minor leakage of paste” with minimal amount of harmful substances and this very limited environmental impact took place at the Laiva Mine on during the weekend. Substances from Vasanneva paste area flew into a delimiting ditch for what appears to be several hours, contaminating it from a three kilometre length. Police was alerted to the scene on Sunday night once the leakage was observed and subsequently quickly stopped. Environmental experts interviewed in the Finnish media think that Piehinki river may be in danger while police believe the breach occurred because the dam failed.
The company also said its 236 million SEK rights issue was fully most done with the exercise of subscription rights and the remainder by oversubscriptions/subscriptions without rights hence there was no need to the need to use underwriters commitment.
