SKF: billion contract from wind industry

Swedish ball bearing maker Svenska Kullagerfabriken AB (OMX: SKF B) said on Friday that it has entered into a 3-year 1 billion kroner supply agreement with a major wind turbine manufacturer for the new Nautilus bearing. It will be used in a new multi-megawatt turbine used in both onshore and offshore installations and is aimed to help reduce the costs of energy through reduced friction and improved running conditions. SKF has been cooperating closely with the said firm and wind energy industry has become more important for the company lately.
