Workers' Day celebrations begin without pay in Denmark

An error in the connection between NemKonto software of local IT company KMD and Nordea bank has left over 100 000 Danes without their wages in time for the public holiday. Customers of other financial institutions could also be affected if their public employer is Nordea's customer. The bugs behind the matter have reportedly been identified and payments should be made tomorrow. The most recent error follows another large scale problem just last month and underscores a worrying trend of increasing unreliability of timely wage and benefit payments in the Nordic region.
