Kongsberg Automotive (OSE: KOA) announced a 36.5 million Euro gear shift cables contract for an automatic transmission application after the bell. The cables will be used in a full—sized truck and SEV platform in the North American market by a leading global car manufacturer over a five-year period.
The company hopes to be able to land more orders from the said customers in the future. The vehicle volume served by this order is expected to be between 800k and 1 million annually starting from April 2013. The shift cables will be produced in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Last week the company noted a total of 42.5 million Euro head rests and seat heat systems contracts from U.S. to be used in cross over utility vehicles (CUV) and seven passengers SUV’s.
