Morpol ASA (OSE: MORPOL) said after market close that Lakeland Unst Ltd a subsidiary of Meridian Salmon which is turn is Morpol’s subsidiary, has agreed to acquire the assets of Uyeasound Salmon Company for 3 million £. Lakeland’s salmon farm operation is located adjacent to Lakeland Unst’s operations on the island of Unst, in Shetland archipelago.
Uyeasound has five sites with a total of 2,297 tons and sells around 1000 tons of gutted weight salmon each year. Morpol is pleased that an agreement was finally reached. The company views the assets attractive with competent staff and very little sea lice present. It expects a positive contribution going forward.
