World’s largest coal producer orders more machinery from Sandvik

Sandvik (OMX: SAND) has been awarded contracts for 21 bolter miners with Shenhua Shendong Mine Group. The contracts are valued over 500 million Swedish kronor in total. Sandvik says its products were chosen due to various factors such as productivity, service life, total costs and good safety record. Chinese coal mining industry is an important business for Sandvik Mining.

Shenhua Shendong is the largest subsidiary of the state-owned Shenhua Group.Shenhua Group is China’s (and the world’s) largest coal producer with over 200 MT of production in 2011. It operates the nation’s largest coal mine in northern parts of the country Sandvik already has 26 bolter miners units in operation at Shenhua Shendong’s sites.
