Chairman Sailas steps down
It takes its toll to head a company involved in various controversies. There have seemingly been a lot of leaders bowing out lately. The next in line is Chairman of the Board of Finnair Plc (OMXH: FIA1S) Harri Sailas who said today that he will not seek re-election to the Board at 2013 AGM. Sailas feels that Finnair now has a chance to really turn things around as cost-cutting measures start to take effect. Although restructuring is still ongoing, he goes on to say this is a good time to change Chairman. Sailas is a member on the Nomination Committee that will recommend Board composition and remuneration by 1 February 2013 by the latest.
