PKC Group Oyj (HEL:PKC1V) becomes a much larger player in North American markets by acquiring AEES companies from Platinum Equity controlled funds for debt free price of 109 million Euro in cash and 1.25 million newly issues shares in PKC. AEES is a manufacturer of wiring harness for heavy and medium duty trucks and also has a significant position in light vehicle wiring harnesses.
PKC feels the companies have great synergies. PKC already is a big player in wiring harness manufacturing for trucks in Europe and South America. AEES 2010 sales were 454 million Euro and it currently has some 13 800 employees.
PKC’s stock has recently retreated considerably, but it is nowhere near hysterical levels of 2009. The company has shown it is able to withstand tough times and accommodate, staying in the blue through the financial crisis downturn. The stock has gained nearly 10% today to around 11 Euros.
