Technical consulting firm ÅF Ab (STO: AF B) has won a contract worth nearly 600 million Swedish kronor related to the construction of reactor three to lvaro Alberto Nuclear Power Station (CNAAA) (Angra Nuclear Power Plant) in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The contract covers 3D piping modelling, ventilation and electrical engineering design, technical support services and the Nuclear Island buildings design. This follows an earlier 100 million contract for consulting services to the project announced in January. The latest contract is expected to generate activity until 2019
The order is placed by Electrobrs Termonuclear S.A – Electronuclear, which is a subsidiary of Electrobras (BM&F Bovespa: ELET3 NYSE: EBR BMAD: XELTO), where Brazilian government has a controlling interest The nuclear power site is the only of its kind in Brazil. The Angra III is expected to be operational in a few years time. ÅF says it won the tender due to its high level of technical expertise and references. Such issues have come into play even more in the field.
