Carlsberg happily notes increasing beer sales at Euro 2012 football venues
Beer sales across eight stadiums used in the Euro 2012 championships in Ukraine and Poland are up almost 50% per spectator from 2008 event in Austria and Switzerland. Much of that comes from fan parks outside the arenas. TV audiences in Europe have also been strong and Carlsberg (OMX: CARL B) feels it is well on its way of iconizing its brand and the new tagline 'That calls for a Carlsberg'. In addition to Peter Schmeichel, Carlsberg also had Gareth Southgate of England hosting UK Carlsberg Pub Cup competition and Shay Given shaking things up in Ireland.
