A Eurocopter AS 350 chopter belonging to Norwegian company Helitrans AS has disappeared from radar over the Baltic Sea near Lübeck, Germany on Wednesday afternoon. It was headed to Halmstad, Sweden with a Norwegian pilot and a Romanian citizen on board. A search mission to find the aircraft is ongoing.
Helitrans has now confirmed that a waterproof backbag found on Thursday from the shoreline in Pelzerhaken, Neustadt contains items that belong to the Romanian passenger. On Monday a minesweeper with Sound Navigation And Ranging (Sonar) capability to detect items under water will join the search of the bay. No new information is expected over the weekend.
Additional help has been received from both Germany and Denmark. Ground crew and military aircraft search went on throughout Thursday-Friday night and the rescue teams met again on Friday morning with additional ground teams and helicopter searching added upon daylight. Helitrans is the largest domestic player in the industry and offers helicopter transportation services to industrial, governmental and private clients.

ReplyDeleteI deeply sympathize with the terrible situation and uncertainty. New information will be given as it becomes available.Helicopter searches are being assisted by several ships from Germany but no new information has become available. The company has also promised to give a press release as soon as they learn something new.
ReplyDeleteDo conversations between pilot and Danish public ... please !!
ReplyDeleteI do not have any inside information on the matter. If there were any discussions, I haven't seen them released. To me disappearance from the radar does not automatically mean there were ongoing discussions.
DeletePlease make public conversation between the pilot from the radar !!!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can gather, this was a disappearance from radar screen. There is no mention of radio contact. Should there be new information, it will certainly be added here
