Kone nets Oslo airport elevators contract

Finnish engineering company KONE (OMX: KNEBV) will deliver 45 elevators for Oslo airport terminal expansion project. The order is for 25 MonoSpace, 4 freight elevators, four platform elevators and one MonoSpace® 500. This builds on an existing service agreement. Installations will begin in 2014.

Gardermoen airport terminal 2 expansion of some 52 000 square metres of added floor space was agreed last year amid rapid increase in customer numbers. It is set to be finished in 2017. Aided by this and a new pier of some 63 000 square metres, its passenger capacity limit increase to 28 million with further plans to hike the number even further to more than double the current 17 million.
